The Secret

Chapter 1
Mia's POV:

I sat on my bed, legs crossed, thinking about a decision I had to make. Were my friends going to believe me? Probably not. You may be wondering what I'm thinking about. Here's the story:

It was an ordinary day. Perfect actually. That summer day wasn't as hot as the other days, which was good. I was spread out on my bed, reading a book out of boredom, tired of playing Frisbee and running around with my little brother outside. We hadn't been hanging out with each other as much as we used to. It was because strange things were happening to me. I could make my hair grow back by itself a day after my haircut. I could make a football shoot straight to another direction. My mom even took me to the doctor! But they couldn't do anything and told us it was just our imagination. My mom actually agreed, but I didn't. Something peculiar was going on. But I just didn't know what!
But this whole summer, my brother kept away from me most of the time, except when the poor thing was bored. I used to think it was because I was being mean to him. Personally, I think I'm an okay older sister and cares about my 7-year old brother, Mike. Though, I have to admit, I can be cunning sometimes. I twirled my hair around and thought about my 11th birthday a few months ago on March 18. It sure was fun when my brother ran toward me when I woke up, holding a tray of yummy pancakes. I smiled as I thought about how I gobbled them up. Then I remembered, I was supposed to get the mail! I ran out of shimmery my periwinkle colored room, and ran downstairs.
I picked up the mail, and headed toward the kitchen. I skimmed through the stack. It was just boring stuff. Bills, my brother's report card, (I was hesitant to steal it) more bills, a coupon, a magazine, a Hogwilts letter to me, another magazine -- wait, hold up! What's Hogwilts? And why is it mailed to me? I accidentally dropped all the mail when I tried to get my letter. My mom ran to help me, "I was going to take it from you anyways to check what bills to pay.", my mom said when I tried to take the stack back. She took it to her small office room. Oh, come on! How was I gonna check what the Hogwarts, Hogwildy thing was? I stomped back to my room, my 11 year-old self not realizing I could just ask my mom to check what the thing mailed to me was.
Later that day, when my dad came home from work, my mom pulled him away at the end of dinner. I frowned, I was in the middle of telling my dad about the time this one bossy girl burped in front of the whole class and how she embarrassed herself! I decided to let my mom know that that wasn't okay to just pull my dad away. I decided to eavesdrop. But then my mom noticed and she gave me The Stern Eye when I tiptoed to her. I turned around.
My mom came into my room the very next day and told me how I was destined to go to a magic school. I snorted and laughed. My mom waited in anticipation until I quieted down. That day, my life changed. Our questions were salved about how I kept doing strange things. I was a witch and was going to go to a school where you learn how to to magic!

That's the end of my story on what I'm thinking about. Now that I'm 15, I have to make a decision on whether or not I should tell my friend Lily that I'm a witch. All these years, I had to lie to her about why strange things sometimes happened like a cat floating in midair. I had to tell her it was her imagination, but it wasn't. It actually happened. And that was my biggest secret from everyone. Though, the thing was, Lily didn't always weird out like all my other friends.
