Chapter 3
Since it's founding, Hogwarts has had many Headmasters and Headmistresses, including Phineas Nigellus, Dilys Dernwent, Armando Dippet, Albus Dumbledore, and Minerva McGonagall. A number of ghosts reside in Hogwarts, including Nearly Headless Nick, The Fat Friar, The Bloody Baron, The Grey Lady, and Moaning Myrtle. There is also a poltergeist, Peeves, who wreaks havoc and discord. There are also the teachers, which include Professors Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Sprout, Flitwick, Burbage, Quirrell, Sinistra, Hagrid, Kettleburn, Binns, Lockhart, Lupin, Moody, Umbridge, Slughorn, Babbling, Vector, Grubbly-Plank, and Trelawney. The students reside inside their dormitories during the school year. There are also the other staff, which include Madam Pomfrey, the nurse, Madam Pince, the librarian, Madam Hooch, Quidditch referee and flying teacher, and Mr. Filch, the caretaker. A few animals that permanently live in Hogwarts include Fang, Fawkes, Mrs. Norris, the Basilisk, and Fluffy.
