Pathways - Ghost

Chapter 4

This is one of many paths you might take--either by choice or destiny--in your afterlife.

Ghost

As you were a witch or wizard in your life, you have the option to go on and become a ghost. You can continue to "live" for eternity. You will maintain your same sense of identity and self.  You will still have free will in terms of what you say and do and who you are, with the exception that you will not be able to affect things around you in a physical way. You will, essentially, lose the sense of touch. This is an important point to note, because it can become a bit like Midas's Curse.

Many people who choose to become ghosts do so to stay close to or attached to their old lives because there is someone in that life they do not wish to leave. This is all well and good until you realize that, as a ghost, you will never be able to touch that person again without giving them an uncomfortable, unpleasant chill.  Your touch will lack all warmth and affection and can, in some cases, cause a greater sense of loss than simply passing on might have done in the first place.  Ghost life can be rewarding and positive, but it can be an eternity of cold.

It is important to take your own personal point of view into consideration before choosing this path. Your general outlook will continue to color how you see things even as you continue into your afterlife. If you are a "glass is half full" type, the lack of physical contact in ghost life will likely not get to you. If you are a "glass is half empty" type, you might find yourself brought down by the lack of ability to reach out physically.

Choose wisely.
