Chapter 2
THE NEXT DAY
Hermione POV
“So, what is it?” He asks. I think things over. It WILL make Ron mad, and that’s a plus. Another plus is that it will make him jealous. There’s only one con, it’s that I’ll have to date ferret. And that’s a pretty big con. I don’t know why I said it, but I did, and there’s no turning back. I swallow air. “Yes.” I reply. He smirks. “Okay, so we need word to get around. Follow me.” He says. I do, and we wind up at the library. “Do as I say.” He states. We walk over to the middle of the library, where there’s lots of people around. He leans in. I let out a groan, but I kiss him. I am absolutely disgusted. It’s for Ron, I remind myself. It’s still disgusting. We break apart and open our eyes to find a staring, silent library. Yay! Lavender and Parvati are here. You can always count on them to spread gossip.
One hour later, and the entire school knows of Draco and I. Great. I didn’t think about this con. What will my friends say? I walk into the common room and I find all my friends sitting on chairs in the shape of a semicircle. Ginny is the first to speak. “This is an intervention.” She says. I groan. “And why do I need an intervention?” I ask. Parvati answers this. “You’ve obviously suffered extensive brain damage if you’re dating Malfoy. But you haven’t suffered any brain damage that we can tell of.” Ginny resumes this statement. “ so you must have a mental illness.” She finishes and sits back down. Harry stands up next. Why is Harry here? Ughhh. “You need to go to St. Mungo’s.” He says. I’m, well, to put it, mad. “I DONT HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE I DONT SUFFER FROM A MENTAL ILLNESS I DONT NEED TO GO TO ST MUNGOS I AM FINE!!!!!”
I say it all at the top of my lungs, without punctuation, and in one breath. I head up to my dorm. I wonder how the Slytherins reacted?
