The Unicorn
Chapter 4
Despite the fact that Unicorns are rarely seen, they are sporadically confused with ordinary equine. Usually this occurs when short-sighted witches/wizards sight them, and dismiss them indifferently - this is not good especially when members of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is registering the creatures and confuse them with horses.
Unicorns are, physically, a creature that resembles a horse with a vertical, pointed horn protruding from its forehead. Unicorns are born pure golden coloured but, when they grow, their coat changes to a creamy white. They are shy animals, solitary, and incredibly intelligent, possessing extreme speed. They are naturally born with many magical qualities, one of which includes their [silver] blood, which will grant the drinker eternal life if consumed. Unicorn hairs are commonly used as wand cores or in potions - procuring this item is typically comparatively difficult, so it is advised that only experienced witches/wizards attempt it.
