ROWENA RAVENCLAW
Rowena Ravenclaw was one of the four Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and gave her name to Ravenclaw House. Noted for her cleverness and creativity, Ravenclaw was regarded as "the most brilliant witch of her time."Her daughter was Helena Ravenclaw, who later became the Ravenclaw house ghost, The Grey Lady.

However, one founder – Salazar Slytherin – believed that only those from all-magic families should receive their education at Hogwarts. Ravenclaw, along with the other two founders – Helga Hufflepuff and Godric Gryffindor – welcomed Muggle-borns into the school, which prompted Slytherin to leave. ”
