Chapter 2
COMPONENTS OF SPELL CASTING
1: CONCENTRATION
-Only term that has an interchangeable equivalent
-It can be referred to as focus
-A spell needs to be instructed which is partly done through the incantation but also thinking what you want the spell to do
2: WILLPOWER
-Some spells require little to no willpower
-Most spells require at least some
-You have to want the spell to work and be willing to make it happen
-You need to exert mental effort for the spell to work
3: WAND MOVEMENT
-Movement helps channel magical energy
-Some movements are simple but others can be extremely complex
-Casting spells without performing the wand movement requires a great deal of concentration
4: INCANTATION
-Words can be random and made up
-Accents are acceptable but say the spell with the appropriate pronunciation
THE VERDIMILLIOUS CHARM
1: METHOD ONE
-Is an offensive spell
-The incantation is vur-duh-MILL-ee-us
-Wand movement is a forward slash that ends pointing at your opponent
-Shoots green sparks out the tip of your wand that explodes around the opponent giving them a light stinging sensation
-Gives you time to prepare for your next spell or flee
-You must focus on the effect and the intended target
2: METHOD TWO
-Temporarily revels objects hidden by Dark Magic
-The incantation is vur-duh-MILL-ee-us
-The wand movement is waving your wand in a circular motion over your head
-Shoots toward the ceiling and explodes illuminating any objects that have been concealed by Dark Magic
-You must focus on the effect and the intended target
-If you push in more willpower it extends the light for a few seconds
THE REVEALING CHARM
-Reveals hidden writing
-Incantation is Aparecium (ah-par-EH-see-um)
-The wand movement is a tap on the target
-Focus on the desired effect
-If there is no writing nothing will happen
-If there is writing it will glow purple and reveal it
-It lasts for 5 minutes
