Newt Scamander
written by Anatoli Harvie
Newt Scamander is an unassuming naturalist whose mild demeanor and devotion to the entire gamut of magical creatures hides enough cleverness and strength to stand up to none other than Gellert Grindelwald himself. Newt’s career as a magizoologist began as a young man working for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. He became the celebrated author of the book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, now considered to be the premier bestiary of the wizarding world. Scamander retired to Dorset after decades of research and exploration.

Chapter 10
December 6th, 1926
Tina Goldstein arrests Newt Scamander after he uses various spells in the presence of Jacob Kolwalski and fails to Obliviate him — and nearly loses a niffler in the process. No one at MACUSA will listen to her report except Percival Graves, who come down to her tiny office to see what’s his Newt’s magical case. Newt and Jacob have accidentally switched cases, however, and the one Tina shows Graves is filled with pastries.
