Chapter 48
Failure to take seriously the threat posed by Gindelwald results in Hector Fawley being forced out of office

Fawley fails to respond strongly to the rise of Grindelwald and the threat posed by his anti-Muggle stance. Fawley loses his job as Minister for Magic as a result.

Notes
Fawley's failure to take forceful action against a growing international threat appears to be a reference to Neville Chamberlain's infamous "peace in our time" statement after trying to appease Hitler in the run-up to World War II.

Leonard Spencer-Moon becomes Minister for Magic

Moon is Minister during a time of great upheaval and conflict, both in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds.

Timeline Notes
Moon's taking the position of Minister coincides with beginning of World War II and the height of Grindelwald's power.
