Chapter 2
Their new teacher welcomes them with a warm smile. "Hello girls, you must be Melody, Sydney, and Kylee!" "We sure are!" replies Sydney in an exited tone, and I can see Kylee give a sigh of relief.
Once everyone is in the class, Mr. Montez starts the first lesson, making a newspaper article about a topic that is actually in the newspaper. "Now, I want you to be creative, as this assignment will tell me a little about you, and how you work. Melody go's on a computer, and starts researching a topic. Swimmer wins gold medal? No, everyone's gonna do that. Man goes to jail for murder? No, too dark. House burns down? Nah, BORING. Dog saves family from fire? Maybe. I keep scrolling. YES. THE PERFECT TOPIC! Missing man? So original, and no one is gonna wanna do THAT. IT'S PERFECT. I press the link that says "Read more." Big Mistake. The second she pressed "read now" a lock down bell rings throughout the school, and the principal's voice rings through the loudspeaker "Attention students, this is an actual lock down. We have had something break through the school. We don't know what, but go to your designated lock down spots. She doesn't know why, but deep down inside, Melody knew this was somehow her fault.
