Most Distinctive Mental & Physical Features Of The Dragon

Physical Features
The dragon is a significantly easy creature to identify. There are many corporeal points which assist you when attempting to distinguish the animal, beginning with scales. Presumably all dragons, as they are a reptilian creature, possess scales, many of different shades and sizes, but nevertheless an over-skin, rather like a hide, that protects the underneath, and are incredibly inhibitory to possible attacks. A dragon's hide is actually crucial to its health, particularly fire-breathing dragons.
Proceeding on to the wings. Wings are the principle form of a dragon's ability to fly, evidently, and flying is pivotal to a dragon's survival. Without this capacity, dragons would not be able to rise into the air to search for prey, as walking is not their primary form of traveling somewhere and it is considerably unusual to see a dragon padding by on foot. Additionally, dragons need their flying capability to avoid Muggles and elude any uncomfortable situations of non-magic people confrontations. If a dragon were not able to fly it would create problematic issues for the Ministry of Magic also, as a dragon is already hard enough to conceal as it is.
Then there is the breathing faculty. Dragons can be capable of expressing fire, smoke, water, etc. from their mouths, though fire is the most commonly observed. This capacity is well known, and a dragon is rarely seen without the ability. Dragons do not depend too heavily on this competence as they have their fangs [see below] to assist them with offensive moves and hunting, but it is useful, and they utilize it often, customarily when hunting for prey.
Dragons are also known to have a ridge of spikes along their spines. Although not all dragons possess these they are common, and the Hungarian Horntail, one of the most fierce and dominant species of dragon, have the largest and many spikes, though not just down its spine. It is known to have them on its tail, and large horns on its head.

Dragons are classified in the order "Beast" by the Ministry of Magic, because, clearly, they do not possess the intelligence required for the category "Being" and are not a Spirit. They are officially rated XXXXX, so therefore are quite dangerous, as the British Ministry proclaims. Their instincts tell them to remain solitary until they meet their life-long mate.
Dragons are fairly intelligent creatures, and can live hundreds of years. There is not much distinctive difference between the intelligence of different species of dragons, as all are regarded clever and capable. They are proved to have just as much mental capacity as that of their physical competence.
