Winter break, Cont.

Chapter 10
I stayed clear of the basement this winter. Not going to go in it's direction ever again. I stand ankle deep in the snow, Matt's arms wrapped around me. I smirk. I grab his arm and judo flip him into the snow. "Parvati!" He exclaims. I stick my tongue out at him. He sweeps my leg and I fall next to him. I laugh. "You're an idiot Parvati Riddle." He teases. "I do a lot of stupid shit." I agree. I kiss him. "Hey, lovebirds!" Ali calls. "Dinner's ready!" I smile at him. "We can never enjoy a moment together." He whispers to me. I think of the time last year after the 1st quidditch practice. "Never." I say jokingly. Maybe he still remembers that moment too. I wave my wand when I get inside, and my clothes are dry, and my hair free of snow. I walk to the dining room and sit in the pure obsidian chair. "Darling, I still don't understand why you brought a Potter into the house." My mother says when I sit down. "Give her a chance mum, like we did Mione." I say defensively. "Alright, Alright." She says. "I'm just surprised Father let her in. Sure, he'd do most anything for you, I mean, your his little Evil Queen, but I mean, a Potter, in the house. NOBODY saw that coming!" Demon says, mouth full of potatoes. "Chew with your mouth closed." My father snaps. "Oh, yes, my Lord.I forgot to thank you for letting me in." Ali says. He nods and turns back to his food. "He'll warm up to you." I mouth. She smirks. "Ocean, your mother is in Tokyo, correct?" My dad asks. "Oh, yes, my Lord. She's going to get something from a dark wizard there." Ocean says. "I see." He says and cuts at his steak aggressively. "Esther, sweet girl, how was your Ancient Studies extra curricular class?" Mum asks. "It was fine, Mother. Much better than Muggle studies which I was forced into last year." She says. "Alecto should've kept on teaching that class." Dad says. I roll my eyes. Alecto is the dumbest person I've ever met. Sure, she's Matt's aunt, but still. "I don't know where you get your smartness from Matt." I say. "Alecto is incredibly dumb. Your dad's better, but not much." I instantly regret saying that. Matt seems fine, but my father's eyes are filled with fury. I slump into my chair and focus on my potato. I leave as soon as I'm excused, and go outside to see Lily. I brought some goat with me for her dinner. "hey girl." I say and toss her the goat. She devours it quickly. I smile, and she nuzzles her head into me. I fall asleep next to her. Tomorrow, I'd be on the train going back to Hogwarts
