They only come in two colors; pink and purple. Their ancestors are the Puffskeins, and one of the Puffskeins was most likely fed a shrinking potion and then a coloring potion, for Puffskeins are custard colored. Then the same thing was most likely done to a Puffskein of the opposing gender. History doesn't show, but they were almost certainly bred together and then produced offspring. These offspring were the first example of the Pygmy Puff. The Pygmy Puff is a very loving and gentle creature that wouldn't hurt a fly. This isn't meant to be literal, because they actually eat insects. (see chap. 6) They are very cuddly and are very great as pets. Their tounges will snake up the nostrils of wizards at night, which makes them very popular pets among wizarding children.
