Chapter 3
"Okay, we just have to wait till dad comes," said mum.
We were standing outside Flourish and Blotts, waiting for dad to come to see us off when we got on the train. I let my owl nip my fingers gently. Then suddenly I saw a red headed family and a dark haired boy appear. A red headed freckled boy was chatting to the dark haired boy, and then I suddenly realized who the dark haired boy was. Of course! He was Harry Potter! The boy who lived! Who had survived the killing curse done by You - Know - Who himself. I stared at him, with my mouth wide open. The boy realized I was staring, and quickly looked away. I shut my mouth and looked away, for I knew he didn't want to be stared at. I noticed that Felix had noticed too, for he was gaping just like I had done, and staring. I had not realized that dad had arrived, and was talking to mum. "Dad!" I said. "Guess what?"
"What?" asked dad, smiling.
"We actually saw Harry Potter, with a whole family of red heads!" blurted out Felix before I could say anything. I glared at him, and then looked down at my watch. I gasped. We only had ten minutes to get to Kings Cross Station. I told this to dad and mum, and she slapped her hand to her mouth. "Oh no! We're late!" she cried.
"Don't worry Rose," said dad. "We'll get there in time. "I hired a muggle car for one day for us to get there."
"What?" said mum. "And you didn't even tell me?"
"It's just for one day, rose," said dad, and mum agreed it was the best way.
We arrived at Kings Cross Station in a short time. There were lots of muggles walking around, and some of them peered curiously at us. We must of looked weird. Felix holding a struggling rat, and an owl in a cage, and the book Standard Book of Spells was visible, so the muggles could read the title.
"That's the one we'll be running into, hopefully without the muggles seeing," said dad, pointing at red brick wall.
"Oh, nothing will happen, eh?" I asked, trying to keep casual.
Dad laughed. "Don't worry, Anna. Everything will be fine."
"I'll go first," said Felix boldly.
"Okay," said dad. "Go on."
Felix ran fast towards the brick wall. Then he had vanished.
"Oh!" I said aloud. "That was sudden."
"Do you want to go next?" asked dad.
"Sure," I said, suddenly eager. I ran toward the brick wall, and then I was suddenly in another bustling station. I saw Felix, who was grinning widely. "Cool, eh?" he said.
"Yeah." I glanced up at the sign saying Platform nine and three quarters. Then suddenly mum appeared then dad.
"Well, really ready to go?" asked dad smiling.
"Really," I said, grinning back. "Bye mum, bye dad." I went to hug them both.
"Have a good term," said mum, smiling.
"Of course I will," I said. The train tooted. "Well, we better get going. Come on, Felix!" We both jumped up on the train. We waved from one of the train windows. "Bye!" Me and Felix yelled. Mum and dad waved back. The train started going slowly. Then it sped up, and we both waved and waved till mum and dad were out of sight.
"This is really it, Felix!" I said, grinning. "We're going to Hogwarts!"
