Backstory
I am one of the few muggleborns, who didn't get their Hogwarts invitation letter due to the muggleborn wizard records being destroyed in the Ministry of Magic many years ago (by You-Know-Who).So, I was raised as a normal muggle child and went to an ordinary muggle school. After school I worked some years as a high-school teacher (math, science, PE). For five years now, I am employed at a science magazine as a photographer, and since then I travel around the world taking pictures of the most beautiful and interesting regions of the Earth.
Then, one month ago (I still can't believe it!), I got the Hogwarts invitation letter! Apparently, the Ministry of Magic did some researches and succeeded in identifying some muggleborn witches and wizards whose records were destroyed. Now, I finally understand many things, that happened around me in all these years. Sometimes, strange things happened that I could not explain by myself. And when I was traveling around the world to document and take pictures of special landscapes and castles, there were some places where I suddenly wasn't in the mood anymore for getting closer and investigating it more in detail. Now of course I know, that they must have been magic places that were prevented from other people by spells.
Even though, I (strictly speaking) don't have the appropriate age for the Hogwarts school anymore, Hogwarts allowed me to join anyway. And this is still so amazing. I still can't believe that I am given the opportunity to learn magic and everything about it. I am looking forward to my first lessons!
