Backstory

Well you see, both of my parents are Slytherin's so the fact that I was sorted into Gryffindor was a huge shocker to all of us. It was quite funny actually, seeing as my parents and I had been in Diagon Alley looking for items to purchase that would fit the Slytherin Ego. Maybe I should've suspected something when we were at Ollivanders and the one that chose me had a phoenix hair core and was made out of alder wood.
