Backstory
Hi there! My name is Mereena Hawthorne, half-blood witch and tea-connoisseur.Upon my arrival at Hogwarts, I was sorted into Hufflepuff house. Although, it did briefly consider placing me in Ravenclaw with my big brother, Ariel. I also have two older sisters, Pandora (an employee in MACUSA) and Gaia (a curse-breaker), and my father's family has a long-standing history of employment in the Ministry of Magic. None of them was too enthusiastic about my house placement (you know, stereotypes and all) but I think they understood- I was always bookish but never as academic or ambitious as my siblings. I think they were just worried; at least if I'd been sorted into Ravenclaw, I'd have had Ariel to look out for me while I was finding my feet. But I think I did alright on my own :)
When I came to Hogwarts, I brought the family cat: a shy, little ragdoll kitten named Jinx, who has a habit of sleeping in the folds of my cloak and chewing on the corners of my textbooks- she's too cute to scold though... and she knows it. I do hope that she'll find some good friends in the other pets in the Hufflepuff dorm!
