Backstory
I am Greg, and I am from Hong Kong. I believe my loyalty, warm, friendly, down-to-earth personality with the persistency of striving fairness and balance at all times are the reasons that the Sorting Hat has put me into Hufflepuff. It was quite an immediate decision for the Sorting Hat, as I'm not that smart enough to be a Ravenclaw, and I'm not brave nor ambitious to be either a Gryffindor nor Slytherin respectively.I enjoy most of the classes as long as there are good teachers to teach XP, but I would say I'm interested in Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures as I love languages and animals. Potions should be the subject I perform the least, as I didn't do well in my Chemistry class in Muggle World after all. I think I might do well in History of Magic too but not particularly enjoyed it if the teacher used monotone to teach all the time.
I am a half-blood, and I think I would like to be the bridge between the Magical World and the Muggle World. If I were in the UK during either time He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named rose to power, it must be chaotic, but I believe most people would stand against him and supported the side with Justice.
I would say I'm good at communicating with others and being attentive to details as well. So I guess I would be a good translator if I have opportunities to focus on studying different languages and runes. And as previously mentioned, I hope I could be the bridge between 2 worlds and different nations, so I guess I would look for official jobs at governments and official bodies.
The fascinating aspect of magic, I would say, would be the ability to help others and create happy moments. Therefore I wish I can help people with my power, as well as to make my family's life better. I also hope that I would be able to understand what others are thinking of using my magical ability.
As I come from a half-blood (and mixed LOL) family, there is a good mixture of culture at home. I have a Shiba Inu called Eddie. He is cute, and I always squeeze his chins. He's naughty sometimes, but at other times he's playful and enjoyable to hang around with, especially when I'm having a movies night at home.
And I also have an owl called Terrance. Unlike Eddie, he's elegant, smart and quiet at most of the times, but he would try to be affectionate and rub my fingers using his head for food. In return, he would perform some tricks like flying around and catch the food I throw out. I am glad I have the accompany of Eddie and Terrance.
And about my family, as I have a Muggle father and my mom's a witch, it is not surprising that I've got admitted in Hogwarts but not my younger sister. We used to not getting along well when we were small. Our bond has become tighter though she's still jealous that I could go to Hogwarts but not her. Though she's a good artist and sports player, so I bet her Muggle school life must be as exciting as I do.
My dad isn't always at home, but he's a humorous guy. Though I'm closer to my mom and she's a clever witch. I bet if she didn't meet my dad and got married right after graduation from Mahoutokoro, she must be working at a management position in the wizarding world. Though I'm always keen on seeing my dad looks so shocked and surprised when my mom uses her magic ability to help out the chores at home. LOL
There must be disagreements sometimes, such as sending me to the UK for boarding school. It was a heated argument, but things will get resolved after thorough discussions. So I love my family :)
