Hey, I'm Kai! You can find me lurking around campus like a dementor, black cloak and all. Don't worry, I'm friendly!

Backstory
I was born a half-blood, as my father was a muggle-born Hufflepuff and my mother a pure-blooded Slytherin as well as a potions master. I have one older (by ten years) sister, who exuded many Ravenclaw qualities, but it seemed her core was a Hufflepuff (so that was the house she was sorted into without much question). My parents heralded her as the Golden Child due to her excellent marks in Hogwarts and I hoped that I'd be able to live up to the same standards. When I was put under the Sorting Hat, I had a sort of hatstall where it wasn't sure if I would be in Ravenclaw or Slytherin due to me being a strong candidate for either house (creativity, intelligence, and wit, yet ambitious, resourcefulness and cunning), and I made the mistake of asking which one I would be trusted the most in (Ravenclaw, I realized later), and the Sorting Hat immediately screamed out Slytherin, making its choice.
I admit I didn't warm up to the decision right away, since I was really looking forward to the the blue of the Ravenclaw Crest and robes, especially since I've always liked birds. But, the Sorting Hat is never wrong and I found myself fitting into Slytherin like a second home. Emerald Green has always been one of my favorite colors anyhow, and I have always preferred Silver over any other metal so I ended up being very happy with my house. Since I wasn't a pureblood, there was some opposition in the beginning to my arrival, but it soon cleared up as I didn't really give much fodder to dislike about me. Our dorms being near the water is also extremely peaceful to sleep to, and I almost get better rest than at home (I have many rambunctious, young relatives to accustom myself to when I visit home). I have a black and white cat (with very bright green eyes) as a pet, named Basil. She's pretty nervous when it comes to other people, but very loving towards me.
My mother is incredibly skilled at potions, especially of the healing sort. So I'm very accustomed to helping to make them, so when I enrolled in Potions class, I excelled to say the least. I wasn't really much of a fan of History of Magic, despite doing okay in the class. It was a bit boring in my opinion. I would say my greatest strength is my resourcefulness, doing pretty much anything to get what I want. My greatest weaknesses is dealing with emotions. It's somewhat difficult to understand why someone may be upset, and I'm not always sure of the best way to comfort people at times. Like do I hug them? Do I make them some soup? Do I just listen? Crying is hard to deal with so I'm still working on that.
I've met so many different people at Hogwarts, and some of my best friends are Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. One of my Slytherin roommates also became very close to me. I do have to say that one of my best qualities is my overarching loyalty. I may not like everyone, but if I like you, I will do almost anything to protect you. I'm not sure what I'm going to do after school (I'm think about becoming a professor though), but I'm definitely working hard to reach whatever that is.
