Matilda-Mae Gillian

Backstory

Hi! My name is Matilda-Mae but most people just call me Matilda or Tills. I am 11 years old and have just started my first year in hogwarts as a Ravenclaw student.

I'm a muggle born so naturally I was very surpised to discover the existense or witches and wizards. I've grown up reading stories about them and I am very exited to become one.

A thing about me is that I am very studious and willing to learn, however I am quite shy and don't normally speak a lot. Saying this I am fully prepared to try talk more in order to make friends in this new school. I'd also like to believe that I am very friendly and enjoy helping others.  

I really like reading and I have since I was very little. My favourite books as a smaller child was Roald Dahl (especially Fantastic Mr Fox and, off course, Matilda), A series of unfortunate events and Murder most unladylike. Now, I enjoy reading books about greek mythology (I love Jennifer Saints books!) but I still return to murder mystery books every now and again. 

So far my favourite classes are Charms and the History of magic. I really like charms because I find it so interesting (and cool!!) to see all the different things with my wand. It feels incredible seeing myself be able to perform magic in a place that is outside of my head. I think the main reason I like the History of magic because I've always liked history in general. Back in muggle school my 2 favourite classes were History and English and I think I can see a lot of that in the History of magic classes.

My Hogwarts pet is a small brown Tawny owl named Pudge. Pudge is a very good owl, however he isn't the brightest and so he gets into trouble often. I still love him regardless though! I've always wanted a pet and owls are my favourite animal. I cant believe that now I have an owl as a pet!

So far I am only in one club, which is the study club in the library, but I would like to join more in the future. I think that I'm currently a bit nervous too nervous to try talk to people but I am working on it!
