Backstory:

Alodia Ellsworth was born on a fine spring day in the heart of Reykjavik, Iceland. She was the daughter of an Icelandic Muggle mother, Lilja, and a British wizard father named William. Her mother was unaware of her daughter’s gift until the day it revealed itself through an emotional outburst at age five. Her father sat both of them down and, after years of oblivion, explained magic to them. Magic slowly integrated itself into their household until, after a year, William voiced his desire to move back to the United Kingdom. He wanted Alodia to attend Hogwarts, just like he had when he was young. It would be a familiar environment where he could help her settle in.

Adapting to an unfamiliar land and moving schools was difficult, but Alodia managed to make good friends and grew to love her new home. Sadly, at age seven, Alodia’s mother passed away from illness. Her father became undone by grief, seeing his late wife’s reflection everywhere he looked. He couldn’t take the sting of familiarity anymore and decided to relocate to a wizarding-only neighborhood, completely withdrawing from Muggle society.

During her years at Hogwarts, Alodia excelled in her two favorite electives. She took Muggle Studies — unbeknownst to her father — so she could reconnect with her roots. She also performed quite well in Care of Magical Creatures, thanks to her love of the unknown. In fact, Alodia enjoyed the challenge of unfamiliarity so much that she decided to live a completely No-Maj lifestyle after school. For three whole years, she lived in a Muggle neighborhood and left her wand behind. This went against her father’s wishes, but he never stopped supporting his precious daughter. She reminded him so much of the woman he once loved.

Occupations:

​After graduating, Alodia found a part-time job at a thrift store, where she discovered her love for Muggle trinkets and knickknacks. She worked there for a year before finding employment as a K–12 teacher, further indulging her passion for helping others and enhancing her communication skills. She guided unaware Muggle-born children with no previous knowledge of magic through their first accidental magical experiences and learned how to make plausible excuses for Muggles around them.

These efforts didn’t go unnoticed, as one day she was approached by a member of the Ministry of Magic. She was offered a job at the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, where she rediscovered her love for magic while staying connected to the Muggle world all the same.

Those few years flew by quicker than any before, but Alodia missed working with children. With her dual passions for both the Muggle and magical worlds, she decided to apply for the position of Muggle Studies Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she would educate eager students and offer a new perspective on Muggles.
