Catalina Cherrau

Backstory

CATALINA WAS BORN TO A pureblood family, tying back to a branch of the Greengrass line. She grew up as the middle child of Liam and Amelia, preceded by her sister Valentine and followed by her brother Daniel. While an early youth, she was nearly inseparable from her sister. When Catalina was 9, Valentine went off to Hogwarts to study with dreams of becoming an Auror. Catalina on the other hand wanted to become a potions master one day. She grew up a bit lavishly, having few wants that were not fulfilled, and her needs were always accounted for.

The day she turned eleven her letter arrived from Hogwarts, she was beyond ecstatic. Her parents later described her as “chomping at the bit” to be sent away for school. Cat recounts the day she went to Olivander’s clearly, the moment she flicked her wand the room lit with a soft emerald glow, an inviting feeling swelling within her. A few weeks later at the sorting ceremony she hardly had to sit for a minute before the hat declared that she was to be in Slytherin, the opposite of her sister. Valentine held a bit of resentment towards her at first over this, but that did not last long as she quickly learned that it didn’t change anything about her beloved little sister, but rather gave her the chance and courage to grow into who she was truly meant to be. 

Personality

Personality Type: Cat is often described as being very bold. She spends most of her time crafting the perfect potions to help with most any situation. She is also at times seen as intimidating, as she knows what she wants and exactly how to get it, often creating a bit of a scare tactic in her classroom.

Positive Personality Traits:
𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒾𝓈𝓂𝒶𝓉𝒾𝒸:  Catalina has always been described as charismatic, always being able to get what she wants from others with a few sweet nothings. 
𝐸𝓍𝓅𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓈𝒾𝓋𝑒:  Ever having her heart on her sleeve once you know her, Catalina is very expressive in all she does, easily becoming engrossed in all conversation with those around her, playing into her charisma. 
𝐼𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓁𝓁𝒾𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉:  Both classically and emotionally. Catalina has always been known to be 𝒞𝓊𝓃𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔: Having had grown up as the middle child, Catalina became rather sly and cunning to get her way, leading her to also be very charismatic. Too much of a good thing is bad at some point, and that is precisely what some say happened to Cat.very studious and in tune with herself.

Negative Personality Traits:
𝓜𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓹𝓾𝓵𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮: Though Catalina often cloaks her intentions in charm and mystique, she is no stranger to pulling strings from the shadows. Years of solitude, betrayal, and magical training have honed her ability to read people like open books—and write in the margins. She doesn’t lie outright, but she’s a master of omission, suggestion, and twisting perception until others walk the path she’s already paved. Her manipulative streak often comes from a place of survival—but it can also blur the lines between self-preservation and control, leaving others unsure of where her loyalty truly lies.
𝒞𝒶𝓊𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓊𝓈:  Catalina has made it a point to be overly reserved when she needs to be in order to protect her identity from the purists around those she cares about. 
𝑅𝑒𝓈𝑒𝓇𝓋𝑒𝒹: Though she can be rather expressive, Catalina prefers to stick to herself until one gets to know her.
