Backstory

I’m Julie Duskwood, a half-blood witch who grew up in Australia, where the magic taught and managed differently to london. Both my parents are wizards. My mum’s a Muggle-born who’s obsessed with magical history and probably knows more about ancient spells than some Hogwarts professors. My dad’s a potions freak always making messes and making my mum mad. Our house was always full of floating notes, glowing ingredients, and enchanted plants that tried to eat the furniture. That’s just how I grew up. I always knew I had magic. I didn’t have to wait for a letter to tell me. When I was little, I accidentally made my reflection roll its eyes back at me. Another time, my shoes wouldn’t touch the ground for a whole day. Still, I never expected to end up at Hogwarts. I thought I’d go to the local magical school like everyone else I knew. But when that Hogwarts letter came by owl, sealed in real wax I was so excited. So we moved to London. Everything was colder, darker, older but kind of thrilling, too. It is very different to what i was used to in Australia.
