Odette sat on the windowsill of the open window in her bedroom staring out on the castle grounds. She watched as the knights and servants did their daily rounds as she waited patiently for her lady-in-waiting. There was a frown on her face. It was her eighteenth birthday, meaning that there would be a ball held that night where she was required to meet her future husband. But Odette had a secret that she'd discovered quite a while ago - it wasn't a husband she longed for, but a wife.

Sage gasped as she made it up onto the shore. The cold waves continued to hit her tired body, but at least she was finally on the ground and not swimming through the rough waters. She wasn't sure exactly where she was, except for that it was an island. The last thing she remembered properly was falling off of a yacht that she'd been on with some friends. She coughed, salty water clearing from her lungs slightly, but not entirely. She needed help, and quick. She squinted from the harsh sunlight, looking around. She spotted what looked to be a small cave just further up, where the sand turned to grass. She could see things rested outside, clearly manmade, and knew instantly that someone must be inhabiting the island. She just hoped whoever it was could help.

It hadn't been very long since everything started. It had only been a couple weeks. Cities had been evacuated as much as they could before the were bombed and burnt. Towns, if not yet affected by the unusual disease, became safe-havens for humans. The military were trying desperately to round up all of the uninfected and secure them in the safe-havens. It had proven to be a harder challenge than imagine - as the sick did not immediately show as sick. The disease infected the blood stream to begin with, making people delirious, before it began to attack the brain. When infected, they weren't exactly dead. They were still conscious, but no longer had control of their body as the disease took over.
Jet had been one of 7 that had been rounded up from a group that fled the city. He was sat in the back of a pickup truck as the gates to the now gated town opened up, letting them in. He hopped out and looked around, taking in his new surroundings.

Sage was shocked to find herself out on the streets, which didn't look like any place she was familiar with. With shaky legs she got to her feet and glanced around. People were stressed very differently - a Victorian type style. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked around. The buildings were old too. She wasn't exactly sure how she ended up where she was - all she knew was that it couldn't be 2024. She walked around, trying to get the attention of someone and ask them for help, but they looked at her oddly and kept ignoring her. She frowned, losing nearly all her hope when a carriage passing by stopped and the door swung open. She walked closely and looked inside to see someone sat there. "Um, excuse me - what year is it, please?"
