Backstory

Eleanor Wintergreen

Gryffindor, Pureblood

Family

Eleanor had always been a daddy’s girl, even since she was a little kid. Her father was a busy herbologist who helped out at the local pharmacy. He grew plants at home, both magical and mundane. Ellie quickly developed an interest in how to take care of plants having been taught from such a young age. Through caring for plants together, the pair had developed a great relationship - although the older Ellie became, the more she defied her father’s decisions.

Her mother, Amaya, worked closely with the ministry but mysteriously went missing 5 years ago. Rumors of Amaya’s alliance with the Dark Lord tainted Ellie’s childhood which crippled her small family immensely. Despite being a single father, Thomas was grateful for the support of his sister and eldest sons Dylan and Noah. Noah worked as an author and Atlas had graduated a few years ago hoping to continue his profession in care for magical creatures. Ellie’s talent for treating animals comes from her brother having taught her about them. Her family was incredibly close and although she would never admit it, she misses these moments with her brothers whilst being away at Hogwarts.

Finn was Ellie’s younger brother being only 18 months younger than her and due to their opposite personalities, rarely get along. Ellie does, however, savor the moments when they’re not bickering.

Childhood

Eleanor Wintergreen was a healthy baby with a large appetite.  Her father loved her to death and she had anything she could ever ask for. When her mother left, her father was heartbroken but vowed to do everything in his power to protect his broken family. Being only six years of age when she lost her mother, Ellie has very few memories of her but a bitter hatred. Thomas had wanted his children to experience muggle life so when Ellie was old enough, following her brothers, she was sent off to a muggle school. The girl quickly learned how important it was to keep all things magical a secret, not even being able to tell her muggle friends what her dad did for a living.

As soon as she got her Hogwarts letter on her 11th birthday, she was overrun with joy. She knew that she'd finally get the opportunity to explore and indulge in everything magic had to offer. Her brothers had taken her to Diagon Alley and helped her pick up school supplies, surprising her with an owl.

Year One

Underneath the towering arches of Hogwarts, a young witch named Eleanor Wintergreen found herself at a crossroads. Born into a lineage of Slytherins, renowned for their cunning and ambition, Eleanor's Sorting Hat placement in Gryffindor sent shockwaves through her family, leaving her feeling out of place, confused, and like she had let down her ancestors.

The weight of her family's legacy pressed heavily upon her shoulders, a constant reminder of the expectations she had failed to meet. However, deep within Eleanor's heart, a flicker of defiance ignited. She was not defined by her family's past, and she refused to let it dictate her future.

As she ventured into the Gryffindor common room, Eleanor was greeted by a sea of unfamiliar faces. The boisterous laughter, the air of camaraderie, and the fiery spirit of her fellow lions were a stark contrast to the hushed tones and calculated maneuvering she had grown accustomed to in Slytherin.

Despite the initial discomfort, Eleanor found herself drawn to the Gryffindor values of courage, integrity, and selflessness. These were qualities that resonated with her own sense of justice and her desire to make a positive impact on the world.

Her mother's past, a tale shrouded in darkness and forbidden alliances, cast a long shadow over Eleanor's family. Haunted by the whispers of her lineage, Eleanor sought refuge in Gryffindor, a place where she could forge her own path, free from the burden of her family's history.

The transition was far from easy. Doubts and insecurities crept into her mind, threatening to extinguish the flame of her newfound determination. Yet, Eleanor persevered, her Gryffindor spirit shining brighter with each passing day.

She learned to confront her fears, to stand up for what she believed in, and to embrace her own identity. Gryffindor became her sanctuary, a place where she could be herself without fear of judgment or disapproval.

Eleanor's journey was not about rejecting her family's legacy; it was about reclaiming her own narrative. She discovered the strength and resilience that lay within her, proving that she was not defined by her lineage but by her own choices and actions.
