Backstory

Returning to HiH after quite some time, but happy to be back! I'm a 25y/o witch from the Netherlands with a passion for magizoology, specifically dragonology. However I also love non-magical animals, which is why I'm studying Veterinary Medicine in the muggle world.

In a way, Keira had always known she had magic in her. However, she was born in a Muggle family and grew up with the idea that all things magic were just a myth. But when she grew older, strange things started to happen. At first, her parents would try to explain it away. Whatever they did not actually see themselves, they put on an overactive imagination. But then one day, a letter arrived that changed everything.

You should have seen them, awkwardly walking through Diagon Alley amazed but also shocked by everything they were seeing. A whole new world was being revealed to them. Keira loved it though. She had never been this excited about getting school supplies. Her favorite shop, without a doubt, was Olivander's where she was paired with an 12 ¼ inch wand made of Larch with a Phoenix feather core that was fairly bendy.

Not long after that, she walked into the Great Hall. Admittedly, she had felt nervous for the first time since her letter. The Great Hall itself was impressive, but all the older students sitting at the tables and the little stool with the Sorting Hat waiting for her and the other first years made the entire thing even more nerve-wracking. She was ripped from her thoughts when her name was called, and it was her turn to be sorted. The Sorting Hat took its time, it felt like, going back and forth between Hufflepuff and Slytherin. But when the hat called out "Slytherin'' she was received with loud cheering and she felt a smile appear on her face.

She loved all her courses and worked hard to have the best grades she could get, as well as get her House as many points as possible. She was most interested in Care of Magical Creatures, which was no surprise to anyone who knew her. Even before she knew she was a witch, she loved animals. She spent a significant amount of time reading about magical creatures, even outside of class, especially dragons.

After her time at Hogwarts, she studied Magizoology and specialized in Dragonology. And now, she is living her dream as a Dragonologist.
