Backstory

You expected to read a detailed profile about this student, but much to your surprise and dismay, the page was covered in a large blob of ink, making all the words completely unreadable.
However, just as you were ready to flip the page, you noticed that beneath the ink, the faint groves of each written letter could still be deciphered, though from the looks of it, it will require a tremendous amount of effort and time to make sense of all this.
Lost in thoughts, you pondered what you should do.
Should you pursue the activity of deciphering that text, or should you leave it be with you being none the wiser than anyone else?
Eventually a curious thought entered your mind though... what if that student still happens to be here?...
