Although I was born to muggle parents, I knew quite a bit about Hogwarts (thanks to JK Rowling), but it wasn't until I had received my acceptance letter in the mail that I really began to look into it. Being obsessed, I did all the research I could on the school (and the wizarding world in general) just before I started my first term here. Diagon Alley is probably one of my favorite spots in the Wizarding world; so far I've only been there once but I love all of the little shops, and the grandeur of Gringott's Bank. Acclimating to a new world was definitely a learning experience for my parents, but they got over it pretty quickly and got a lot more excited. Of course, don't forget the oddity of running through a brick wall to catch the train to school!
Overall, I feel very excited and privileged to be learning at such a prestigious school. Since I really enjoy learning new things, I may have also finished reading most of the textbooks I purchased cover-to-cover...
