When a bowtruckle has the fungus, their fingers go purple, then body, & then their head. The Whomping Willow does not have bowtruckles.

⊱ If you give a bowtruckle ten to fifteen woodlice, they can be drawed away for five to ten minutes.

⊱ If Muggles saw them during the witch trials, trees would be burnt down, which killed many bowtruckles.
