Dear Diary,
My name is Alissa Zahir. My mother gave you to me just before I boarded the Hogwarts express. I am a witch, and will be going into my first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have read about Hogwarts and though about which house I would like to be in: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, or Gryffindor. I think that I would like Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but I suppose I will just have to wait and see.
I am on the train right now, sitting in a compartment with two other first years: Madison Gilbert and Sia Cleone. They are both very nice. Madison says that her whole family is made up of witches and wizards. She wants to be in Hufflepuff. Sia's mother is a witch and her father is a Muggle who died soon after she was born. She doesn't know what house she wants to be in.
A prefect just came by our compartment and told us to put on our uniforms, so I have to stop writing.
Sincerely, Alissa
